Tattooist Baby Blue creates stunning tattoos with fine line work, masterful shading and great use of colour. Looking at her work, you immediately know what you are looking at. A versatile artist that attempts so many different styles and executes them perfectly. Those thin lines alone are so well done and strong and delicate it’s a great balance. Finally, her creativity is insurmountable such powerful imagery that is unique and beautiful.

Where are you from?

I come from Banja Luka, the second largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina and also a capital of Republic of Srpska, an entity of the aforementioned state.

How did you get started in art?

My father is responsible for my interest in painting and art in general because ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been watching him paint, he also helped me all the time with art projects at school.

How long have you been tattooing?

Officially I’ve been tattooing for five years now, but there was a two year long training/practice period before that where I’ve been tattooing on artificial leather and fruits and sometimes even on myself just to make sure that I get the best out of every drop of ink.

What made you get interested in Tattooing?

I got interested in tattooing because of the idea that every word and every picture I tattoo on someone becomes a walking piece of art and something that will last a lifetime.

How would you describe your style?

No tattoo style can be set apart from others as my official one and even though that I enjoy creating every tattoo, the ones that give me special satisfaction are the ones with vivid and vibrant colors with a combination of thin and thick lines which is something closest to neotraditional style.

What are your favourite tattoos to do?

As I answered in the previous question, vibrant and vivid colors with a combination of thin and thick lines are my very favourite.

Which style would you like to be more proficient at?

There’s no specific tattoo style I would like to get better at because there are styles that I don’t like and never do, while on the other hand I work every day on becoming more proficient with every style that I like and of course do.

What are your dreams like when you sleep?

Well, I don’t dream often but sometimes when I do, it’s linked to some of the tattoos that I created, more specifically to the stories that go along with that specific tattoo.

In the Covid-19 pandemic world what do you need more than anything?

I miss the lack of work, since I haven’t been tattooing for almost two months as a precaution measure, but I also miss the opportunity to use my passport and explore the world with my loved one.

Do you prefer doing colour or black and white? What is your least favourite type of tattoo to do?

In regard to color or black-white tattoos I have already answered that, but in regard to the least favorite tattoo style, I suppose that you could say that I’m not a fan of realism.

What title would you give this chapter of your life?

If my life was a book, this chapter of my life would be titled:

THE MOST IMPORTANT CHAPTER

If you weren't an artist what job do you think you would have and why that job in particular?

I’d probably be a veterinarian since my love for animals can almost match my love for tattooing, actually almost all of my tattoos are a depiction of all sorts of animals, cats, bees, chameleon, penguin, dragonfly, seahorse and a hornet. More will come in the future I’m pretty sure.

Do you prefer to do custom designs or your own work?

My portfolio counts around three thousand drawings and counting, and I would really like if I could tattoo all of them, but sometimes a custom made design can come with an incredible story behind it and that makes it almost impossible to decide.

Where do you find your inspiration for your work?

Almost everywhere, because where one man sees a simple flower garden, an artist such as myself sees an abundant source of inspiration, also my boyfriend is a great and also my most favorite source of inspiration.

Do you prefer Oreo or Fudgee-O cookies?

Neither one of those, I prefer a good fruit salad.
